When the Audi A6 was unveiled in November 2010, the German automaker was hush-hush about the hybrid version that was available in the North America. Even today, Audi AG has issued no word about the rumors surrounding the availability of the A6 hybrid version.

And yet there are now rumors about the A6 Hybrid confirmation by inside sources from Audi. According to recent source reports, the A6 Hybrid will have an initial tag price of about $55,000 and will be available in the US market sometime next year. Experts assume that the US hybrid variant will be the same as the hybrid version that will be released in the European market 2012 with the combination of the 2.0-liter V4 TFSI gasoline engine (with 211 horsepower and 258.15 lb-ft of torque) and the electric engine with its 33kW output power and 155.63 lb-ft of torque. Combined output is at 245 horsepower and 354.03 lb-ft mounted to an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox in a front wheel drive platform.

The electric engine gets is power from a lithium-ion battery. This weighs around 80.91 lb. The lithium-ion battery is enclosed under the luggage compartment that has been built to be collision resistant. According to the carmaker, the electric car has a luggage capacity of about 13.24 cu. ft. This figure is lesser compared to the non-hybrid model whose luggage capacity is about 18.7 cu.ft.

The hybrid version of this car accelerates at the speed of 62 mph in 7.3 seconds with top speed of 238 km/h. Moreover, sources say that the A6 Hybrid can run up to 100 km/h in pure electric power.

When you are looking for a hybrid car … I can tell you that the Smart ForTwo is definitely a car that I want to own. This is a car that is not only going to look pretty chic and interesting but it is completely and totally electric. That is one of the best things about it. Right now though — the Smart has a lot of issues that they are trying to resolve and that is what the Smart ForTwo is trying to resolve.

For example, the Smart right now can only get up to about 40 hp and it can only provide short bursts when the accelerator is pushed to the floor. Most of the time, the horsepower is around 27 and honestly, that is not enough to really get you where you want to go.

However … if you are just running up to the store or even to work, this is certainly the car for you and it is cheap!

The Prius is one of those cars that I think could be almost completely and totally green, which to me is one of those things that will push it over the top. With the way that the environment is right now, it is pretty obvious that the Prius is going to be in the lead for the car of the year – on the hybrid side, especially with this brand new addition!

So if you are worried about the environment and you truly want to make a different, Toyota is with you and the Prius is going to be the very best choice!

So let’s have a chat about Mitsubishi – they actually just announced that they are coming out with one of the latest and greatest electric cars! It is the iMiEV and it is a small and egg-shaped car, as you can see, but it goes on sale in Japan this year for about $45,660, however, it should be coming to the US very soon. This car is absolutely incredible and it does not take any gas at all, which with the rise of gas prices is awesome!

This car can drive up to 100 miles and can recharge fully in about 14 hours on 100-volts of power, so you never have to worry about how much power you are going to be using or how much distance you need to cover. While this car may look a little weird, it is definitely one of the best cars in the world and Mitsubishi is an incredible brand to have a car from.

So you want electric? You should totally import a Mitsubishi iMiEV!
